Most companies have mission statements that help to define their products within a framework of “on brand” or “off”. This is not an altogether bad idea, we need that frame to help us decide if what we’ve made lives up to the expectations we have for what is “good”. Where mission statements fail (and this is a understandable result of their static nature) is in addressing change that naturally happens in society, organizations, or culture. This blog is intended to be a mission statement creation exercise, of sorts. Here I will flesh out thoughts on technology, writing, gaming, design, and whatever else seems pertinent to the work that I’m doing. I hope that you enjoy the writing and find it helpful in your work.
